Welcome to BSA Troop 80

To provide the Scouting program in a safe, enriching environment; to promote fun, adventure, and learning; and to encourage personal development of character and integrity in our Scouts.

Boy Scout Troop 80 is an exciting and action oriented troop that fosters the patrol method originally developed by Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scouts. Through the patrol method, the boys run their own program, plan and execute their meetings and outings, and learn by their successes and failures. The troop draws most of its members from the west side of St. Charles, including Campton Hills, Wasco, Elburn, South Elgin and Lily Lake. Our sponsor is Bell-Graham PTO. The goal of Troop 80 is to make the learning of scout skills fun and use these as stepping stones in the development of responsibility, character, citizenship and leadership skills as well as physical fitness.

Thank you so much to anyone who came to my Eagle Project. You guys were amazing and managed to get it done a day early! The principal and LRC director absolutely love it! Be on the lookout because sometime in August when the school gets the tops in we will have one final day.

Our favorite service project is back this year!

If you are interested in registering for one of two dates, please sign up online. The corn picked will be donated to the Food Bank. Dates are WEATHER PERMITTING and we will keep you posted if there are any changes.

Troop 80 Class B Shirt Orders - Due Thursday, July 1st!

Posted by schabura on Jun 26 2021 - 1:51pm

We are once again placing an order for Class B shirts for anyone who hasn't yet ordered any, is going to camp and needs more, or has outgrown their previous shirts. You can place the order on this Google form, https://forms.gle/HYF2RgoDFAWgmgLfA and see attachments for pictures and pricing. We are offering two styles of T shirts: a soft, vintage style T and a performance sport T and we are also offering a super soft full zip hoodie in either Carbon (dark grey) or a Camo style, pictured in the second attachment. Camo is no longer just for moms since enough scouts seem to want that one. Remember that scouts wear Class B shirts to summer troop meetings and every day at summer camp so order what you need. We won't be carrying extra stock of these shirts, only buying what is ordered. (Other BSA shirts also count as Class Bs so you don't need a week's worth of these in particular!)

Class B shirts for summer camp

Posted by NSponsler on Jun 24 2021 - 6:09pm

Class B shirts are a requirement for daily wear at summer camp. These can be any class Bs … the Troop 80 t-shirts, including the tie-dye shirts made at the fall campout, but also any Scout shirt from previous Pack or Troop events. You can also check out the clearance rack at the St. Charles Scout shop. For new Scout parents: you may think your Scout needs 7 clean shirts but I can assure you, they will wear the same ones over and over!
